NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Titans defensive tackle Randy Starks returned to practice Tuesday after missing an exhibition game and a practice following his arrest on a domestic assault charge involving his fiancee.
But he declined to talk to reporters. Coach Jeff Fisher said he expects there is a reason the two-year veteran did not speak.
“We are going to make him available as soon as he is able to discuss things,” Fisher said. “I’m sure that his not talking at this point is based on the advice of his attorney.”
Starks turned himself in Saturday and posted $2,000 bond after police were called to the home he shares with his fiancee. The arrest report said they argued about an ex-girlfriend when his fiancee told him she was returning to New York.
Nine of her fingernails were broken and bleeding after Starks allegedly grabbed for her engagement ring. She went downstairs, where Starks is accused of throwing her over a chair and onto a couch before forcing her out of the garage and throwing her belongings outside.
Starks is scheduled for a preliminary court appearance Sept. 7.
